This policy explains what data Getme (m) Sdn Bhd ("we") collects when you use obslive, why we collect it, where it is held, how long we keep it, and what you can do about it.
1. Who we are
obslive is operated by Getme (m) Sdn Bhd (company registration no. 1329230-K, 2A, Jalan Melaka Raya 18, Taman Melaka Raya, 75000 Melaka, Malaysia). For anything relating to your personal data, contact [email protected].
2. What we collect
We collect only what running the service requires. This is the complete list.
| Category | What it actually is | Where it comes from |
|---|---|---|
| Account | First and last name, email address, password (stored hashed), country, interface language, time zone, profile picture if you upload one | You, at sign-up and in settings |
| Channels | Platform name, RTMP URL and stream key (stored encrypted) | You, after getting them from each platform |
| Broadcast records | Start and end time of each stream, duration, how many platforms ran at once, and which ones | Generated when you go live |
| Media | Stream recordings, videos you upload, and your own standby clip | Created or uploaded by you |
| Payments | Order number, amount, currency, payment time, plan period, and the transaction reference returned by the payment provider | Generated by us and the payment provider |
| Connection events | When an incoming stream connects or drops — used for the live health indicator and to settle disputes | Reported by the streaming platform |
We do not collect phone numbers, and we do not log your browser User-Agent. Signing up needs only your name, email, password and country.
We never see your card number, expiry date or security code. Payment always happens on the payment provider’s own page. Card details do not pass through our servers and are not in our database.
3. About IP addresses
When you log in, we read the connecting IP address and use a local geolocation database to work out your time zone and country, so that times and default currency come out right. Only the result is kept — the time zone and country. The IP address itself is never written to our database.
To pick a language for this website, we read a country code served from our own domain. It is a same-origin request; your IP is not sent to a third party. Once you choose a language yourself, that choice is used from then on and no detection happens.
4. Cookies, analytics and advertising
On this website (obslive.net) and the console (app.obslive.net) we use the third-party tools below to understand how the site is used and to measure our advertising. They place cookies in your browser:
| Tool | Provider | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Google Analytics (GA4) | Google LLC | Traffic statistics: which pages get viewed, where visitors arrive from |
| Google Ads conversion tracking | Google LLC | Tells us whether a sign-up or payment came from an ad we paid for |
| Meta Pixel | Meta Platforms, Inc. | The same, for Facebook and Instagram advertising |
What we send is what happened, not who you are. Specifically: which page you viewed, whether you completed a sign-up, whether you completed a payment, and that order’s amount and currency. We do not give these tools your name, email address, phone number, country or stream keys.
What you do inside the console once logged in is not tracked. Going live, switching scenes, the recording library and uploaded videos send no events at all — that is you working, and it has nothing to do with advertising. Only the sign-up, login, plan and checkout-result pages report anything.
These tools are operated by Google LLC and Meta Platforms, Inc. The data goes to their servers outside your country and is governed by their own privacy policies.
If you would rather not be tracked, you can:
- Block third-party cookies in your browser settings, or turn on your browser’s built-in tracking protection.
- Google: install the official Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on (tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout), or turn off personalised ads under Ad Settings in your Google account.
- Meta: adjust Ad Preferences in your Facebook or Instagram account settings.
Opting out does not affect any part of obslive that you can use.
Apart from the cookies those tools set, we ourselves use browser local storage for the following only. It stays on your device and is not sent to us automatically:
- This website: the interface language you chose.
- The console: your login token, interface theme and language, the state and scene setup of a stream in progress, and a checkout order number that is cleared once checkout finishes.
Clearing your browser data removes all of it — you will simply need to log in again and your preferences reset to defaults.
5. How long we keep it
| Data | Retention |
|---|---|
| Stream recordings | 7 days from the start of the stream, then deleted automatically each day — including the file held by the streaming platform |
| Videos you upload, and your standby clip | Kept until you delete them. They do not expire |
| Account, broadcast records, payment records | Kept while your account exists. Payment records are additionally kept for the period tax law requires |
| System logs | 14 days |
| Server performance metrics (no personal data) | 30 days |
A login session lasts 8 hours, after which you log in again.
6. Where your data is held
Using obslive involves data crossing borders. This is where things actually go:
| Data | Location |
|---|---|
| Database — account, broadcast records, payments | Taiwan (Taipei), encrypted at rest |
| Videos you upload and your standby clip | Taiwan (Taipei) |
| Recording and distribution | International content delivery network (global) |
| Live signal relay | Japan (Tokyo) |
Before reaching the platforms, your stream passes through relay servers in Tokyo, Japan. That is what lets us take over with standby video the moment your connection degrades, so the stream does not drop. The relay handles the signal in real time and does not store your media.
7. Who else sees your data
We do not sell or rent your personal data. We share it only where the service requires:
| Who | What they get | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Payment providers (NewebPay in Taiwan, Fiuu elsewhere) | Order number, amount, currency and your email address; Fiuu also receives your name | To take payment and send you the receipt |
| The streaming platforms you choose (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok and others) | Your live audio and video | That is the point of the service — getting your stream to the platforms you picked |
| Cloud infrastructure and content delivery providers | Stream and recording transport and storage | To run distribution and recording |
| Google and Meta (advertising and analytics — see section 4) | Which page you viewed, whether you signed up or paid, and the order amount and currency. Never your name, email or phone number | To measure our advertising |
You obtain your own stream keys and enter them yourself. We do not use platform authorisation (OAuth) to obtain any permissions on your behalf. Keys are stored encrypted and are never returned by our API — the interface only shows whether a key is set.
We will also comply with lawful requests from authorities where legally required.
8. Your rights
You may ask to see your data, get a copy of it, correct it, restrict how we use it, or have it deleted.
Some of this you can do yourself in the console — edit your details, delete channels, delete uploaded videos and your standby clip. For anything else, including deleting your account, email [email protected] and we will act on it once we have verified who you are.
Note that deleting your account also removes your broadcast records, recordings and uploads, and cannot be undone. Transaction records we are required by tax law to retain are excluded.
9. Security
- Passwords are stored as one-way hashes. We cannot recover or read your password.
- Stream keys are encrypted in the database.
- The database itself is encrypted at rest and sits inside a closed network with no public access.
- All traffic to the website and the API is encrypted with HTTPS.
No system is perfectly secure. If a breach occurs that could affect you, we will notify you as the law requires.
10. Minors
obslive is a tool for businesses and is not aimed at anyone under 18. If you are under 18, use it only with the consent of a parent or guardian.
11. Changes to this policy
This policy is updated as the service changes. Revised versions are published on this page with a new "last updated" date. For significant changes we will also email you.
12. Contact us
For any question about this policy or your data, email [email protected] or write to 2A, Jalan Melaka Raya 18, Taman Melaka Raya, 75000 Melaka, Malaysia.
